Craig Griffin & Lord
With nearly a century of legal practice in the Central Auckland suburbs, we continue to offer our clients dedicated support from our current location on Mt Eden Road. With on-site car parking and being near Auckland’s major transport routes, this location allows easy access for clients and visitors.
The Firm has recently welcomed a change in its Partnership. After many years of leadership as a Partner, David Griffin has moved from the Partnership to a consultancy role, continuing his valued contribution and ensuring the Firm retains his knowledge and experience. We are pleased to announce that Shiraan Dunn has joined the Partnership alongside existing Partner Louise Waugh. Together, they combine extensive legal expertise with a fresh perspective, ensuring the Firm continues to provide trusted advice and representation.
Our History
We trace our origins to the Newmarket law firm founded in 1929 by Charlie Craig, a well-known figure in the local business community and long-serving Borough Councillor. For more than two decades Charlie was Newmarket’s only solicitor, until his nephew Ross Craig joined him in 1954. In the 1980s the Partnership expanded with the arrival of David Griffin and Chris Lord, who, together with Ross, guided the Firm through a period of significant growth. Ross retired as a Partner in 1996 but continued as a Consultant until his death in 2014.
The Firm has continued to evolve in recent years. Louise Waugh became a Partner in 2013, bringing further depth to the team. Chris Lord moved to a Consultancy role in 2019 before retiring from practice in 2021, and David Griffin has now stepped aside from the Partnership but remains closely involved with the Firm as a Consultant. Most recently, we are delighted to welcome Shiraan Dunn to the Partnership, marking the next chapter in our ongoing commitment to clients.
The Firm maintains strong connections with a network of select law firms across New Zealand to assist clients with interests beyond the Auckland region.
