Craig Griffin & Lord traces its origins from the Newmarket law firm founded in 1929 by C S Craig. Charlie Craig became a well-known figure in the development of the Newmarket business community and was a Newmarket Borough Councillor for a number of years. He was the only solicitor in Newmarket for more than 20 years until his nephew Ross Craig joined the firm from Dunedin in 1954 and continued to be associated with the firm as a consultant until his death in May 2014.
Our main office is now in Mount Eden with on-site car parking near Auckland’s major transport routes allowing for easy access for clients and visitors. We can also arrange appointments at our Silverdale location for the convenience of clients and visitors in the North Shore.
The current partners David Griffin, Chris Lord and Louise Waugh have more than 80 years of practical legal experience between them. Our property Legal Executive Noeleen Taylor was one of the first graduates of formal legal executive training in Auckland and also provides her wealth of experience to the firm. At the other end of the scale the firm also has a young and energetic group of support staff keeping up with the latest trends in legal practice.

Chris practises in the areas of conveyancing, commercial transactions, trusts and relationship property, in addition to overseeing the commercial litigation that is carried out by the firm.
Some interests include travel, tramping and mastering golf, his attempts being markedly unsuccessful to date, although he can boast of two holes in one. Chris is married with four adult children, two being qualified lawyers.

David’s interests in the law include civil litigation conveyancing trust and estate work. He is also the trust account partner and responsible for the firms IT.

Louise Waugh joined our firm shortly before her admission to the bar in 2005 and became an Associate in November 2008. She joined the partnership in December 2013. Louise also qualified as a Legal Executive prior to obtaining her law degree.
Louise practices civil litigation (including debt recovery and enforcement), family law, conveyancing and estate work.
When not in the office Louise enjoys spending time with her two children. She is a part-time volunteer for the charity Dress for Success, and a member of the Auckland Women Lawyers’ Association.
Noeleen is a legal executive who has had an association with the firm since 1972.
She commenced practise as a conveyancer after graduating with a BA in English and Political Studies and completed the first Legal Executives Certificate course in 1974. After a break at home with two daughters between 1977 and 1985 she returned to her former role which she has enlarged to include a keen interest in trust work.
Noeleen works out of our Silverdale office for three days of the week, a convenient location to her home with husband Brian on five acres in Dairy Flat, where orphaned sheep, a transgender chook and fattening piglets keep them busy!
Jesse is our staff solicitor and most recent addition to the firm. He was admitted to the bar in 2013 and was formerly practising at the Ministry of Justice for Legal Aid Services in Wellington prior to joining us in December 2014.
Outside of work, Jesse follows all sports but especially Rugby League and Cricket. He also enjoys playing his piano and attending music gigs whenever he has the chance.
